Afton, unfortunately I can't claim credit for the "small, auxiliary dog." That was a phrase made famous by newspaper columnist Dave Barry. He frequently wrote about his family and home and often referred to their "large main dog, Earnest, and their small, auxiliary dog, Zippy."
I used to love reading his column and I loved when he talked about the dogs that way.
It truly fits with my sister's dogs, because one is a big ol' golden retriever who is as wild today as when he was a puppy and the other is some fluffy, little white whatever-poo.
Anyway, you are as free to steal it from Dave as I was.
High five to AD for agreeing on the toile and thanks to Elizabeth for your nice words about my folks.

Since we were out of town last weekend, we have some catching up on stuff around the house this weekend. I'm not sure how much yard work we'll get done, since we had snow on the ground when we woke up this morning. It didn't stick around long, but the wind was blowing today and it was cold. Just one of those February reminders, I guess.
I need to prune my roses soon, but I'm so lazy. I love how they bloom all summer long, but the late-winter pruning is always a challenge because I'm such a perfectionist about it.
